My Dream Man by Aditi Bose

** I received a ‘Signed-copy’ of ‘My Dream Man ’ in exchange for an honest review**
FULL BOOK COVER WITH BLURBAbout the Book:
"I need to write. I need to sit my ass on that chair and write. I haven't written in ages. Actually I haven't written for the past two years. Rather the past one year, ten months and seventeen days." - from My Dream Man
In her debut novel in the romance genre, Aditi Bose has portrayed romance in an altogether new light. Her prose is realistic, candid, sympathetic and romantic - all at the same time. She doesn't miss out on the humorous bits either. My Dream Man is a novel about the female protagonist's inner desires and the challenges that the reality offers.
Ajopa Ganguly is a girl in her twenties who lives with her parents in Delhi. Her life is fine except for one tiny problem. All publishers have rejected the manuscript that she has very painstakingly written. She believes it's more because she is not a known celebrity rather than because the plot is not appealing enough. She is so disturbed by this that she has been baking cupcakes and embroidering handkerchiefs instead these days. This is when Aniket Verma re-enters her life. He is a professor of economics who is well known in his circle. He's twelve years older to Ajopa. They had been good friends till a misunderstanding happened five years back.
What happens when they meet again is what the story is all about.
An honestly written book, My Dream Man, is insightful as it examines how forces beyond our control help us make personal decisions. As Ajopa says, it is all about "deep choosing".

BOOK REVIEW
Untitled-1
Quiet frankly,  I am still trying to figure out the reason behind choosing or approving this Book-Cover design. 'My Dream Man', does not talk about erotic art of love or bondage lovemaking, so snap out of it!! I myself had a tough time explaining my parents "do not go by the book cover to judge the content of the book, ma! It is most definitely not what you think I am reading" It's not like I don't read erotic books but then it could get little embarrassing sitting among people and reading a book with such book covers and explaining "DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER".  Yes! I learnt it the most awkward way EVER possible!!Through 'My Dream Man', the author Aditi Bose has shared her thoughts on her findings of 'True Love' and the struggle of a teenager in realising the difference between 'crush' and 'love'. Ajopa Ganguly (the character) falls in love with her Economics professor, Aniket Verma and throughout her phase of growing up from a teenager to an adult women, she has always fantasised about him. 'The one true love' as I would like to call it.
The story is very well written, the writing style is unique as the author chooses to write in the form of a diary entry/journal as if she's sharing her life experiences with the readers. (Aditi has written this book based on instances similar to her own life creating an impression in the reader's mind that the story revolves around the reality of her own love life , her 'Economics professor' now husband.) The language is simple yet elaborate, the characters are well characterised and the best part is the SUPERB twist at the end. That was my favourite part!
As Ajopa, the author also talks about the struggle an upcoming author has to face in the industry and the fear of failure could create a harsh impact on the writer's mind (as for Ajoba, she had quit on Writing). It is an inspiration for all the upcoming writers to never loose hope and always believe in their work. There is always something to learn in every book and I appreciate that the author chose to share her learnings through this book.

Other than that, I enjoyed reading 'My Dream Man'. It is a quiet read and sweet-simple book. I would also like to appreciate and highlight the guts of the writer to present an autobiography in a very-well convincing format.

BOOK BLURB
I don’t know if I can do a story like this once again or not.
Ajopa Ganguly, a struggling writer, is reeling from the pains of her manuscript having been rejected by all publishers. She knows that making cupcakes and embroidering handkerchiefs is not her true calling. However, she is scared to write anymore and is losing focus.
Aniket Verma, is the professor of economics who was also Ajopa’s tuition teacher once. Despite their twelve years age gap, with time, they forge a special bond of friendship.
Then a misunderstanding!
Now Aniket is back and it feel just like old times. With a challenge of finishing a new manuscript in record time and a promise that he will help her to get it published if she does, he asks her to meet him at the publisher’s office two days later.
Does she write?
Does she go to the publisher’s office?
At what moment does their friendship change?
 Do they fall in love?
My Dream Man, a let-me-tell-my-friends and I-need-to-finish-this-now story, is an insightful examination of how forces beyond our control help us make decisions. As Ajopa says, it is all about ‘deep choosing’.
